7 Beauty Tips for Looking Younger

Ever since Eve took her first bite of apple, mankind has been obsessed with beauty.

The truth is that we begin the aging process right out of the womb. Every day of our lives, our bodies shed and regenerate new cells. The rate at which this happens when we are young is very different as we age.

Every day, you are bombarded with commercial messages and beauty tips that try to trick you into believing that the latest miracle drug is just what you need to fight the ravages of Mother Nature. In general, we are living longer. In particular, it can be a curse or a blessing, depending on your point of view.

The best path to natural beauty and healthy skin is to take care of what you have. Sounds simple right? The truth is that your skin is affected by the environment every day. Here are some of our favorite beauty tips to keep your skin looking young and healthy:

1: Stay hydrated and do the same with plenty of water! It doesn't mean soda, caffeine or any other liquid, even if it's low in calories. Soda (even diet soda) is high in sodium. Sodium retains liquid. You need a fluid that hydrates and flushes toxins out of your body. Make sure you drink at least 8 glasses a day!

2: Protect your skin from harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays. We all love the sun. We love being in it and we love having a nice tan. The truth is that you can poison yourself with too much sun exposure. UV rays cause skin cancer, and if not bad enough, they age your skin faster than usual, contributing to unsightly wrinkles. If you must play in the sun, be sure to use adequate sunscreen. Don't leave without it!

3: Keep your skin clean. Use a soft, warm cloth. Skin does not need exfoliation. You will do more harm than good if you do.

4: The best cure for wrinkles is to never have them! If you're like most of us, you didn't listen to your mom when she told you to stay in the shade, stand up straight, and stop squinting!

5: Healthy eating. Knowing how and what to eat can make a big difference in how you feel. Bad eating habits can cause depression, weight gain, illness, and general lethargy.

Weight gain causes your skin to stretch. As you age, it loses its elasticity and you get sagging skin.

The best solution to this problem is to maintain a healthy weight. A good rule of thumb for eating habits is... don't eat more calories than you consume. Don't go a day without doing something more physical for at least 30 minutes a day. It could be three ten-minute walks. Or 30 minutes of vigorous aerobics, or 12 minutes of weightlifting and 18 minutes of walking.

6: Do not worry Be Happy. A happy prospect seems to trigger the release of endorphins. Endorphins relax the cardiovascular system, and cytokines alert the immune system to abnormalities such as cancer cells. Listen to yourself carefully. If you've been self-deprecating since you were a child, then throughout your life, negative subconscious messages can wreak havoc by turning you into a pessimist. Take a week to write down the phrases you use in your "self-talk". Chances are you'll repeat dozens of phrases that reinforce that negative image. If you know them, you can modify them. Outer beauty and inner joy go hand in hand.

Here are some quick tips for increasing joy, hope, and optimism that will work regardless of your age:

Make a list of at least 50 amazing things that happen to you every day.

Laugh more. You will heal your body and mind. Discover a new challenge every month.

Try meditating for just five minutes a day.

7: Sex after 50 – Ha! How many of you skipped this part?

The importance of physical intimacy really depends on the couple. An alarming number is that men give up sex after the age of 60 and many women feel their sex life ends at menopause. Fortunately, this is no longer the case.

Mature sex can actually get better and more satisfying than ever. Maturity gives the couple more experience in love. Children are often adults and are left at home. The pressure to build a career and daily life is generally less stressful than younger people. Is beauty really superficial?

The answer is yes or no. It's a paradox, isn't it? True beauty begins from within. Wish there was a way to "pick your nose" and get your baby soft skin back? Well, until someone finds the real "spring of youth", we're stuck with what we have

Remember that getting older doesn't necessarily mean getting older.
